About Me

I have never enjoyed sitting behind a desk, learning from books, and colouring inside the lines. As a little girl, I spent more time swinging upside down from the tyre hanging in the tree outside than I did watching television. When I told a story, it never started at the beginning, or ended at the end. When I told a story, I omitted details others thought essential, like time, and quantity and location. I focused instead on the colour, or the feeling, or the smell of a story. Nothing I ever learnt came to me in a straight line. It came to me upside down on a tyre, or bent double laughing, or lying prostrate under the giant canopy of an African sky. Zimbabwe is my home, my artistic inspiration, and above all, my motivation.
